The BPR&D rewards 5 best books of Hindi on Police, Forensic Science, Criminology related subjects. Cash prize is also given. Apart from this, books of four other police officers from across the country have also been rewarded. The selection of books was done in the meeting of the evaluation committee under the chairmanship of Mr. Sudip Lakhtakia, IPS Director General, BPR&D. The book ‘Samvidhan Kavya’ written by Mr. Sunil Kumar Gautam, presents the Indian Constitution in a very simple and poetic form, which makes it intelligible even to the common man. Entire Constitution of India has been written in 238 verses, also mentioning the number of articles. It took 6 months to write this book. This book was released by Dr Kiran Bedi, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Puducherry on October 5, 2016 in Puducherry. At that time, Mr. Gautam was posted as Director General of Police in Puducherry. This book is particularly written for ordinary citizens and police personnel as it presents the complex and lengthy Constitution of India in a very simple manner.
