Delhi Conquerors face their first defeat of Pre – Season of the Elite pro Basketball as they went down fighting to Jaipur Giants. The match was neck to neck till the 3rd quarter before Jaipur Giants turned up another gear and won the game 108 – 82. The lead changed 8 times throughout the match with both teams giving their all to secure a place in the semi-finals. Joginder Singh Saharan of Jaipur Team proved the difference with 34 points including 8 three-pointers. Tanmay Mali of Delhi Conquerors again top scored with 18 points, but it wasn’t enough today.
Ahmedabad Aces also held their own as they squashed Pune Pythons by 34 points. The Ahmedabad Aces outplayed them in all the departments. Raj Kalbhor led the pack with 27 points, followed by Vivek Goti with 24. Narender Grewal of the Pune Pythons led the scoring with 21 points.
Hyderabad Hoops also secured their win against Nagpur Knights keeping their hopes of making it to the semi-finals alive. Mandeep Singh from Hyderabad Hoops came to his own scoring 37 points which included 10 3-point conversions of the 17 he attempted.
The Stage is interestingly set with both Mumbai Stars and Ahmedabad Aces registering 2 wins in their 2 games in the western conference. In the Northern conference, both Delhi Conquerors and Jaipur Giants have 2 wins each, but Jaipur still has 1 game left from their pool. In the South conference, Chennai Turbo is proving a team to defeat with 2 wins in 2 games, while in the East/Central Conference is still anyone’s game with Hyderabad Hoops, Nagpur Knights and Lucknow Swarms still having a chance to make it to the semi-finals.
